Answer the Call! The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle Phonathon 2020 set for March 8-9

press release:2/22/2020

Over 100 Concord-Carlisle High School National Honor Society students will be staffing the phones on Sunday, March 8 and Monday, March 9 for The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle’s yearly fundraising Phonathon. This annual community event is key to The Scholarship Fund’s mission of providing need-based college scholarships for students who live in or have graduated from secondary schools in Concord or Carlisle. The Scholarship Fund has been supporting students for over 50 years and to date has awarded over $3 million in scholarships toward post-secondary education.

The students will gather in the CCHS cafeteria to place approximately 3,500 calls to Concord and Carlisle residents. Chair of The Scholarship Fund and of the Phonathon, Bee Loprete, is looking forward to again serving as coach to the students as they make the calls. “It’s great watching the kids using their best public relations skills to champion a cause that touches their lives so closely. We couldn’t do this without the National Honor Society and Peter Atlas, their advisor. The kids really throw themselves into the Phonathon and enjoy making it into a friendly competition as to which table of callers can reach the most donors successfully. They also enjoy calling residents with whom they have a personal connection. It’s a very lively event for a tremendous cause!”

What can you do to make a difference in an aspiring scholar’s life? It’s simple. Pick up your phone when our student ambassadors call, ask any questions you have about The Scholarship Fund, and please consider donating. No amount is too small -- every tax-deductible donation invests in the future of our local youth by making their college dreams more obtainable.
