AN OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS

Welcome to The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle, where your gift will have a direct impact on our student applicants’ ability to attend college. The Scholarship Fund is the largest community-based non-profit organization that helps financially challenged students connected to Concord and Carlisle to pursue their dreams of affording a post-secondary education.

By helping these students pay for college, we are investing in both their future and in the future of our community. Since 1966, we have supported more than 1,400 students, many of whom have gone on to rewarding careers and high achievement.

The Scholarship Fund is governed and staffed entirely by volunteers with expertise in investment management, accounting, law, fundraising, college admissions and financial aid, technology and general management. Our administrative costs are minimal, so more of your gifts go directly to assist students.

Please give as generously as you can – it’s amazing what you can do.

Start your own named fund Consider establishing a named fund to honor a loved one or someone you admire. A minimum $25,000 investment will provide a permanent, annual scholarship award. Pledges may be paid over time, and donors may add to their funds at any time in order to increase the annual award. For details and assistance, email the Trustees at info@thescholarshipfundofcc.org. We will respond to your inquiry promptly.

A named fund may also be established with gifts accumulated over time by groups of individuals, such as CHS/CCHS Reunion Classes. As an example, in 2017, members of the CHS Class of 1962 established the John F. Donovan Scholarship upon their 55th reunion. Class members decided to create a lasting tribute to John F. Donovan, CCHS principal from 1949-71. Donovan, a “teacher of teachers,” served in WWII and was respected and admired by students, parents, and teachers. For more information about how to create a fund that will grow over time to reach a minimum of $25,000 please contact a Trustee at info@thescholarshipfundofcc.org.

Planned Gifts We will be pleased to discuss tax advantages, timing of distributions, and the revocable options that may be exercised by your estate. Some common vehicles for planned giving include deferred gifts (charitable trusts and other life income gifts), bequests (of property, stocks and holdings), and Donor Advised Fund contributions.
